SF This Week
A curated guide to the best things happening in San Francisco
May 27 -- June 14, 2026 · Curated by Amika
Summer is here and the city's calendar is absurd. Bob Dylan at The Greek. Jim Gaffigan at The Masonic. Phantom of the Opera at the Orpheum. The Union Street Festival, Stern Grove's opening day, and the Cubs at Oracle Park. Below are 24 events worth your time and money -- and several that are completely free.
Weekend Picks
The Greek Theatre, Berkeley
Sat-Sun, Jun 13-14
8:00 PM
A living legend in the most beautiful outdoor amphitheater in the Bay. Dylan's recent tours have been genuinely great -- stripped-down, surprising setlists, and a voice that carries decades of American songwriting. You don't skip this. Ever.
The Masonic
Sat, Jun 13
5:00 PM & 8:00 PM
America's favorite clean comedian does two shows at The Masonic. Gaffigan's 'Hot Pockets' bit is legendary, but his newer material on fatherhood and food obsession is even sharper. You will laugh until your face hurts. Guaranteed.
Stern Grove
Sun, Jun 14
2:00 PM
The most beloved free concert series in SF kicks off its summer season. Peter Cat Recording Co. -- the Indian psych-jazz band that blew up internationally -- opens the festival with Marinero. Bring a picnic, arrive early for a good spot on the hillside.
Union Street, Cow Hollow
Sat-Sun, Jun 6-7
11:00 AM - 7:00 PM
One of SF's great free street fairs returns to Cow Hollow with live music on multiple stages, food trucks, craft cocktails, local artists, and the legendary Waiters Race. Stroll, eat, drink, repeat. This is what summer Saturdays in SF were made for.
Oracle Park
Fri-Sun, Jun 12-14
7:15 PM / 7:05 PM / 12:10 PM
The Cubs at Oracle Park is always a draw -- their traveling fanbase fills the bleachers and the energy is playoff-level. Saturday night (7:05 PM, $61+) is the marquee game. Sunday's 12:10 PM start is perfect for a lazy waterfront afternoon.
Fort Mason Center
Sat-Sun, Jun 13-14
10:00 AM
The best craft market in the city, hands down. Hundreds of ceramicists, jewelers, painters, and textile artists show and sell their work at Fort Mason. Free entry, gorgeous waterfront setting, and you'll leave with at least one handmade mug you didn't need.
Concerts & Live Music
The Fillmore
Wed, Jun 3
8:00 PM
Trinidad's soca king brings the Carnival energy to the Fillmore. Kes makes music that physically won't let you stand still -- this is a sweaty, joyful, mandatory-dancing kind of night. If you've never experienced soca live, this is your entry point.
Bill Graham Civic Auditorium
Fri, Jun 5
9:00 PM
The Swedish EDM titan takes over Bill Graham for what will be one of the louder Friday nights downtown has seen in a while. If you've ever had 'Heroes' stuck in your head, this is the live version that'll rattle your chest.
Bill Graham Civic Auditorium
Sat, Jun 6
8:00 PM
The former One Direction member has carved out a surprisingly credible solo career with a Britpop-adjacent sound. His live show has real energy and the devoted fanbase means the room will be electric. A solid Saturday night out.
The Masonic
Wed-Thu, Jun 10-11
8:00 PM
The Scottish indie-pop legends bring their literate, wistful charm to The Masonic for two nights. If you've ever felt feelings while reading a book, this is your band. Stuart Murdoch's voice in that room will be transcendent.
The Fillmore
Fri, Jun 12
8:00 PM
If you were alive and had ears in the '90s, you know 'Possum Kingdom.' The Toadies bring that raw, grungy Texas energy to the Fillmore with Local H and Sparta opening -- a triple bill of bands that hit harder than they have any right to in 2026.
Comedy
The Masonic
Sat, Jun 13
5:00 PM & 8:00 PM
Two shows, both guaranteed to sell out. Gaffigan is the rare comedian who can fill arenas without a single dirty joke. His observational humor about food, laziness, and parenting is so relatable it hurts. Floor seats from $118 are a steal for this.
Sports
Oracle Park
Wed, May 27
12:45 PM
A Wednesday day game at the yard -- the best kind of hooky excuse. The Giants wrap up a homestand against Arizona before heading to Colorado. Cheap seats start at $14, and you get waterfront views for free.
Oracle Park
Mon-Wed, Jun 8-10
6:45 PM / 6:45 PM / 12:45 PM
Three games against Washington at the most beautiful ballpark in America. The Wednesday matinee (12:45 PM) is the move if you can swing a long lunch. Tickets from $20 -- that's less than a cocktail in this city.
Food & Drink
Grant Avenue (California to Pacific)
Fri, Jun 12
5:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Grant Avenue transforms into a buzzing night market with food stalls, lantern-lit streets, and live performances. The oldest Chinatown in North America does night markets differently -- this is authentic, chaotic, and delicious.
St. Mary's Cathedral / Japantown
Sat, Jun 13
11:00 AM - 5:00 PM
A Japantown institution celebrating the humble soybean in all its glorious forms. Free tastings, cooking demos, and vendors serving everything from silky tofu desserts to fermented miso creations. A must for any plant-curious eater.
Fort Mason Center
Fri, Jun 19
5:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Mark your calendar now: the massive Friday Night Market returns June 19 with 50+ craft vendors curated by West Coast Craft, 25+ food trucks from Off the Grid, and live music on the waterfront. Free entry, incredible vibes.
Outdoor & Festivals
2nd Street / 90 Natoma, SoMa
Thu, Jun 4
5:00 PM - 10:00 PM
The monthly block party on 2nd Street goes off with 175+ vendors, food trucks, and live performances -- but the June headliner is absurd: Janelle Monae doing a free DJ set starting at 7 PM. This is going to be packed. Get there early, grab a drink, claim your spot.
Valencia Street (16th-19th), Mission
Thu, Jun 11
5:00 PM - 10:00 PM
The Mission's answer to a night market -- Valencia Street shuts down for a block party with local vendors, food, live music, and the kind of eclectic energy that only the Mission can deliver. Second Thursdays through October.
Dolores Park
Fri, Jun 12
6:30 PM (film at ~8:30 PM)
Free outdoor screening of the greatest movie ever made, on the greatest lawn in SF. Bring a blanket, a bottle of something nice, and someone you like. Film starts after sundown. 'As you wish.'
Art & Culture
Orpheum Theatre
May 28 - Jun 21
7:30 PM (varies)
The chandelier is back. The touring production of Broadway's longest-running show is finally in SF, and the Orpheum's ornate interior was basically designed for this. Expect to ugly-cry during 'Music of the Night.' This one sells out -- don't wait.
War Memorial Opera House
Jun 3 - 21 (select dates)
7:30 PM
Rossini's comic masterpiece opens the SF Opera summer season. 'Largo al factotum' is the most recognizable opera melody you didn't know you knew. The War Memorial Opera House is worth the visit alone -- one of the most beautiful rooms in the city.
California Academy of Sciences
Every Thursday in June
6:00 PM - 10:00 PM
The best date night in SF that nobody talks about. Every Thursday, the Academy opens its doors for a 21+ party with cocktails, DJs, and a chance to wander past the aquarium and rainforest dome without kids bumping into you. Themed nights rotate weekly.
Legion of Honor
Thu, Jun 11
6:00 PM
The Legion of Honor after hours is an underrated SF flex. Explore 'The Etruscans: From the Heart of Ancient Italy' with DJs, Off the Grid food trucks, drinks, and VIP wine tasting -- all inside one of the most stunning museum buildings on the West Coast.
Twin Peaks
Opens Sat, Jun 6 (through Jun 28)
All Day
The glowing Pink Triangle above Twin Peaks returns to kick off Pride Month. Visible from across the city, it's one of SF's most iconic symbols. Volunteer to help install it on June 6, or just look up and feel something. Pride Parade closes the month June 27-28.
