Plugins & connectors

Give your AI a place to put the work.

Connect HTML Docs to Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, or any MCP client. Your AI can use the knowledge you already have—and publish its finished artifacts somewhere your company can edit, review, and keep.

Claude opens with the connector name and URL prefilled. If Claude Code uses your Claude.ai subscription, the same connection appears there automatically.

One server. A short path for every client.

The hosted MCP server is the product. These setup paths simply tell your preferred AI where to find it.

Claude + Claude Code

One-click setup

Open Claude's official custom-connector dialog with HTML Docs and the MCP URL already filled in. Review it, choose Add, then complete HTML Docs OAuth. Claude Code picks it up automatically when it is signed in with the same Claude.ai subscription.

Connect Claude + Claude Code

In Claude Code, run /mcp to confirm it is available. API-key, Bedrock, and Vertex sessions do not inherit Claude.ai connectors; install the public plugin below.

ChatGPT + Codex

Directory approval pending

ChatGPT and Codex share one public Plugins Directory. After approval, one HTML Docs plugin install will cover both products. Until then, add the MCP to ChatGPT here and use the agent setup command below for Codex.

  1. 1In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps → Advanced settings and enable Developer mode.
  2. 2Select Create, name the app HTML Docs, and paste the MCP URL below.
  3. 3Scan the tools, choose Create, then sign in to HTML Docs when prompted.

Codex + Claude Code

Public plugin live

Install the public HTML Docs plugin for Claude Code. It includes the hosted MCP connection plus the instruction layer that makes HTML Docs the default home for substantial, lasting artifacts.

$ claude plugin marketplace add raunaqbn/html-docs-claude-plugin && claude plugin install html-docs@html-docs
Inspect the public plugin source

For Codex and other supported local agents, run the HTML Docs installer once. It adds the hosted MCP connection; authenticate with your existing HTML Docs account when prompted.

$ npx @html-docs/cli install

MCP-only fallback

Add only the hosted MCP server when you do not want the artifact-defaulting skill included with the plugin.

$ claude mcp add html-docs --transport http https://www.html-docs.com/mcp

Anthropic directory

The same public package is being submitted to Anthropic's official marketplace. Until approval, the command above installs it from the HTML Docs marketplace.

Optional: richer artifact authoring

You do not need the skill to search, read, create, update, or comment on HTML Docs. Install it when you want the full source-grounded document, video, and course workflow.

$ npx skills add raunaqbn/html-docs-skill --skill html-docs -g

Start a new Codex task or Claude Code session after installation.

Other MCP clients

Add the hosted endpoint as a Streamable HTTP server. Clients that support MCP OAuth will open HTML Docs sign-in automatically.

What it changes

The artifact stops being an answer. It becomes shared knowledge.

Find the work you already did

Search personal documents and company workspaces, then read only the sources needed for the task.

Give every artifact a durable home

Turn a report, dashboard, plan, or explainer into a private collaborative HTML Doc instead of leaving it trapped in chat.

Keep review attached to the artifact

Read and add comments, update individual blocks, and keep the same review URL across revisions.

Revise without losing the past

Inspect document versions and restore an earlier state when a rewrite goes in the wrong direction.

Already use HTML Docs?

Connect the account you already trust with your company's work.

OAuth keeps access tied to your identity. The AI sees only the personal documents and workspaces that account can access.
